Google Advertising Programs: AdSense and AdWords

I am sure most of you know that Google is the number one search engine on the Internet. But, do you know that Google is more than just a search engine? Google do also help business owners to boost their business on the Internet with Google AdWords and webmasters/bloggers to make money online through Google AdSense.

Let’s take a glimpse at what each Google advertising program does and how it works.

Google AdSense

Google AdSense is an advertising program, which allows publishers (usually webmasters or bloggers who provide content) to sign up for free and place Google AdSense code on their websites. Google will then present the relevant ads based on the keywords and the content on the webpage. The website owners will get paid if someone clicks on it. If you are serious about making AdSense income, do make sure you have a website that is search engine optimized and contains high quality content that people want to read and can bring in visitors. Google is very strict about the integrity and can track suspicious clicks so you should never ever click on your own ads. It is important to follow the big rules of Google AdSense program. And failing to do so could result in your Google AdSense account being terminated for life.

Google AdWords

On the other hand, Google AdWords is a pay-per-click (PPC) advertising program which is for the advertisers (usually business owners who provide products or services) to create an AdSense ad. As an advertiser, you will need to pay for each AdSense click from the search results page as well as publisher’s content sites. And of course in return, you will be rewarded with the highly targeted and increased traffic coming to your landing page in just matter of hours, which will result in higher sales. You can sign up a Google AdWords account and set up your first ad campaign for free but Google needs your credit card details if you need your ads to be activated.

In short, AdSense publishers make money from AdSense click and AdWord advertisers make money by getting targeted traffic to their site within a short time, which in turn will lead to higher conversion of sales. You can find both Google advertising programs here: http://www.google.com/intl/en/ads/
